Thumbs Up for IX Liverpool at the Houses of Parliament

Last week I was invited to the Parliament and Internet Conference at the Houses of Parliament, London.

It was great to meet a number of MP’s, including Matthew Hancock MP who gave his support for IX Liverpool, while talking about why he wants the UK to be the best place in the world to do Digital Business.
It’s interesting that while many people think the whole Northern Powerhouse agenda has died and the government have given up on it, I got a very much different impression, many people at the event are arguing about how much to spend on things like infrastructure projects, improving digital skills and the impact of HS2/3 and how Liverpool could become a pioneer in all of these if it had the local political will and of course the right people to see it through.
It’s actually quite hard not to get drawn into the politics with what IX Liverpool are doing, especially in a place like Liverpool, but we will try to remain as neutral as we can and continue to work with whoever is in power.
