What is an Internet Exchange?

A link between two networks. The edge of one network connects to the edge of another network and they agree to talk the same language (protocol). The device on the interconnection there is a device called a router that connects them together.

IX Liverpool want to connect various networks together where interconnection is viable within the city and the need for interconnection exists, we want to build this in a Carrier Neutral facility, one that is not owned or operated by an ISP, Data Centre or Telecoms network facility.
